ALL SCOT AND BOTHERED
The Red Rogues are back, and this time we look at Cecilia’s story. Cecilia Teague had a rough childhood, but somehow found her way into high society. After years of not knowing where she comes from, Cecilia receives a letter from her childhood savior, Genny, explaining that her aunt has passed away. Now Cecilia has received her deceased aunt’s “school” for young girls. She quickly learns that the school is really a gambling hell that has some rather sketchy rumors surrounding it. Soon after walking through the doors she is faced with a new enemy of Lord Chief Justice of the High Court, Cassius Gerard Ramsey. Now thrown into this chaotic and dark world, Cecilia has to figure out who she can trust in order to save not only herself, but also these mysteriously disappeared young girls.
This book has a lot going on. While I wish I had read the first novel, it wasn’t hard to keep up with the storyline. Poor Cecilia was never handed an easy life. I felt she had one knock out after another. Thankfully she has two best friends, Frank and Alex, who this story would not be the same without! I really enjoyed diving into her story, but felt some sections moved a little faster than I wanted. Nonetheless, this was a very interesting read with really great characters. If you’re looking for a historical mystery, I recommend you give this book a read…
