AN ALE OF TWO CITIES
It’s time for the Winter Carnival in Shady Creek, Vermont. This is Sadie Coleman’s first holiday in Shady Creek, and she is working tirelessly to make sure her pub makes a splash. After the death of her ex, she just wants to have a calm holiday. Between hosting trivia and book clubs, she is also trying to put together a pub hockey team. Unfortunately for Sadie, this holiday is going to be anything but ordinary. When she walks up on a dead body, yet again, Sadie becomes wrapped up in solving the mystery of what happened to Freddy Mancini, the man from Shady Creek who decided he was too good for this city. To the dismay of the police department, Sadie decides to fully immerse herself in the case and find out who killed Freddy and why!
I am really looking forward to reading more of this series. Even though this is the second book in the series, it is easy to read as a standalone. I had not read the first book yet had no trouble keeping up. The characters are full of personality. I felt like I was right there in Shady Creek trying to catch the killer with Sadie. As someone who reads a lot of cozies, this is one of the best ones I’ve read in a long time. With the weather starting to cool down, this is the perfect book for a night in with a warm cider. I highly recommend you check this book out!
