Tracy Somerset is divorced, lives in Covenant, Connecticut with her toddler, and misses adult company. She makes a late-night run to get a pain reliever a couple of towns over and runs into the best looking, sweetest guy, Todd. After spending a few hours chatting over coffee and giving him her number, she is called upon to be his alibi and finds out he’s the guy that beat the rap for murdering his wife, a girl she knew in high school. Another woman’s body was found outside the home he is building across the lake from her house. How lucky do you have to be for the first guy you’re interested in other than your cheating ex-husband/high school sweetheart, to be accused of a second murder?
With a great small-town cozy feeling, where everyone knows everybody, but no one is sure how this happened; in some sort of way, Clifford has painted a picture of a lovely New England town you can see yourself visiting. But, don’t stay too long, young women are dropping like flies! A very entertaining read, and I highly recommend this book!
